There are four popular types of memo sets – chain sets, ring sets, booklets, and hanging memos.
Chain sets
These sets are usually a smaller version of single memo samples. Individual memos are secured together with a sturdy chain in a similar fashion to a key chain. Product information and identification are printed on headers or labels that can be positioned in different ways. Labels can extend beyond the fabric, be placed on the back side of the fabric, or under the fabric on a separate label. The smaller size of these memo sets makes them more cost effective than larger, single memo samples.
Ring sets
Instead of the memos being secured with a chain, they can be secured on a heavy duty metal ring. Clients can easily browse through the samples by flipping them over the ring. No protective cover is needed for these sets.
Booklets
Memo samples can be bound together in a protective book with a hard cover. The cover can be customized with a brand logo and photos.
Hanging memos
This is a popular way to display memo samples on rods in a showroom. The samples are hung on metal or plastic hangers. The fabric samples should be large enough to show the pattern design and to allow the fabric to be draped or folded. Informational labels can be attached to the hanger itself or to the material swatch. Hanging memos enable the customer to more easily see how the fabric would look on an upholstery frame or as a window treatment.
